Homecoming

Pitt has set the time for the Homecoming game versus Virginia. It will be a 12:30 pm game. So the tailgate will be a 7:30 am start. Plenty of time to get ready for it. If anyone has any special requests, please let me know! (The game will be broadcast on Root Sports.)

Thanks, and have a great day!

Pitt vs. New Mexico

Ok, admit it, you were pretty excited for at least the first 10 minutes of the Florida game!  The New Mexico game this weekend is a 12:30pm kickoff.  So the tailgate is slotted to be a 7:30am start.  What we need to know:

1.       Are you coming?

2.       What time will you arrive?

3.       Any special food requests?

We also have 3 tickets and one parking pass available as well.  So if anyone knows someone that is interested, let myself (or Bull) know.

Thanks, and have a great day!

Save the date!

Saturday, June 22nd we will be bringing back the Lambda Chi Family Picnic in North Park. 11am to 7pm (or later). We will be in the Latham Pavilion, which is just up the road from the last picnic.

Additional details to follow.

Pitt vs. Penn State

I know, I know.  We thought it would never happen.  But apparently HELL has actually frozen over and the Pitt vs. Penn State rivalry will resume in 2016.

I am sure the first thing on everyone’s mind is , “Hey, can you get me tickets?”.  NO!  Well, at least not yet.  And, yes, preference will be given to the full season ticket holders (who help may the “donation” to Pitt for our club seats.

Pitt Vs. WVU

Well, we are down to one tailgate left, and the balance of power in the Big East is at stake! Pitt wins, the Big East is ours! (probably). If you did not already know, TV did it to us again. The game will be a noon kickoff. So that puts us at a 7AM start for the tailgate. So we need to get counts of who will be at the Tailgate, and if you will be in time for breakfast (i.e. before 9:30am).

Let us know as soon as you can!

Some interesting recipes for cooking at a tailgate.  These people have not seen anything until they have seen Mikey P cook!  Mike, you need to submit some of your recipes!

Pitt vs. Florida International

On October 2nd, 2010…  Coming to a tailgate near you….

That’s right, you cannot stop it.  On October 2nd Pitt will have their 4th game and we will have our 3rd tailgate.  This game will not be on TV.  Too bad for Pitt.  But great for us.  Since the game will not be on TV, it will be a 3:30pm kickoff.  That means the tailgate starts at 10:30am.  Wahoo!  We get to sleep in!

In case you did not know, Pitt *screwed us* had to reallocate all of the parking passes due to the new amphitheater and new Hyatt Place hotel.  So we are not in Lot Red 7C in front of the Clark Bar entrance this year.  Instead, we managed to get some passes moved in to lot Red 7B, which is the lot to the left of the Clark Bar building if you are standing in front of the bar looking at the entrance.

We have no theme for this tailgate.  Probably the theme will be eat, drink and pray for a win.

Welcome to the Jungle

Well, the undergrads were not really using the web addresses that we got them, so the alumni have decided to take over the web site.  Here you will see blogs and information from various alumni.  Most of the time, will probably blog about the next tailgate.  But hey, what’s life with out tailgating!

So, on with the show!

Welcome to BlogEngine.NET 1.6.0

If you see this post it means that BlogEngine.NET 1.6.0 is running and the hard part of creating your own blog is done. There is only a few things left to do.

Write Permissions

To be able to log in to the blog and writing posts, you need to enable write permissions on the App_Data folder. If you’re blog is hosted at a hosting provider, you can either log into your account’s admin page or call the support. You need write permissions on the App_Data folder because all posts, comments, and blog attachments are saved as XML files and placed in the App_Data folder.

If you wish to use a database to to store your blog data, we still encourage you to enable this write access for an images you may wish to store for your blog posts.  If you are interested in using Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, VistaDB, or other databases, please see the BlogEngine wiki to get started.

Security

When you've got write permissions to the App_Data folder, you need to change the username and password. Find the sign-in link located either at the bottom or top of the page depending on your current theme and click it. Now enter "admin" in both the username and password fields and click the button. You will now see an admin menu appear. It has a link to the "Users" admin page. From there you can change the username and password.  Passwords are hashed by default so if you lose your password, please see the BlogEngine wiki for information on recovery.

Configuration and Profile

Now that you have your blog secured, take a look through the settings and give your new blog a title.  BlogEngine.NET 1.4 is set up to take full advantage of of many semantic formats and technologies such as FOAF, SIOC and APML. It means that the content stored in your BlogEngine.NET installation will be fully portable and auto-discoverable.  Be sure to fill in your author profile to take better advantage of this.

Themes and Widgets

One last thing to consider is customizing the look of your blog.  We have a few themes available right out of the box including two fully setup to use our new widget framework.  The widget framework allows drop and drag placement on your side bar as well as editing and configuration right in the widget while you are logged in.  Be sure to check out our home page for more theme choices and downloadable widgets to add to your blog.

On the web

You can find BlogEngine.NET on the official website. Here you'll find tutorials, documentation, tips and tricks and much more. The ongoing development of BlogEngine.NET can be followed at CodePlex where the daily builds will be published for anyone to download.

Good luck and happy writing.
